WHO IS A CREATIVE?
So, who is a creative? Creatives are…artists, makers, artisans, dancers, musicians, seamstresses, illustrators, writers, painters, culinary artists, craftspersons, inventors, designers, tinkerers, actors, weavers, sculptors … and all who are passionate about creating.
PLACE has used the term “creative” rather than “artist” in order to help potential residents recognize that they may qualify even if they have not previously self-identified as artists or have felt excluded from that category.
You don’t need to make your living from your creative work. You do need to demonstrate a commitment to that creative work. In addition to the standard application, you will submit an essay describing your creative work and why living at Via Sol would be helpful for your creative pursuits. You will be contacted for a follow-up interview separate from your financial application.
